🚀 Upcoming Software Update: Better Accuracy, Smarter Planning

We’re excited to share that an update to the new version of The Shred Method™ software is rolling out soon — packed with improvements to make your plan even more accurate and actionable.

Here’s what’s new:

📝 More Accurate Consumer Debt Projections

On the Financial tab, you’ll now see a Principal field when entering Consumer Debts.
✅ Update this to reflect the original loan amount.
✅ Make sure the Start Date matches the loan’s actual start date — just like you do with mortgages.
This helps us create more precise projections in both the traditional vs accelerated reports.

🔄 Pay-Off Priority That Respects Your Choices

When you set priorities in the Consumer Debts & Household Expenses tab, those priorities are now honored in the suggested transactions.
💡 You’ll still see our algorithm’s suggested order — but what you set is what the plan will follow when you recalculate.

💰 Improved Lump Sum Payment Algorithm

We’ve refined the lump sum payment strategy to:

• Prevent overusing your Line of Credit.
  
  

• Fully pay off one debt before moving to the next highest priority.
  
  

• If you uncheck “Enable Maximization” on your Shred Account, the software will focus on paying down the LOC first.
  
  

📈 Smarter Savings & Reports

• The Savings this Cycle number on the Transactions tab now reflects a more accurate calculation (specifically on consumer debt payoffs).
  
  

• Enhanced Reports visualization shows more accurate comparisons of accelerated vs traditional payoffs — including updated timelines and interest savings.
  
  

• On charts, you can now click and drag to zoom in, then hit Reset Zoom to return to the full view. This allows you to get very granular on what you owe month by month into the future - we heard your feedback and made the update!
  
  

🏠 Mortgage Investments Logic

Mortgage investments will now:

• Start only after all mortgages are paid off.
  
  

• Use the total amount you were previously applying toward mortgages (Principal and Interest) for investment purposes.
  
  

These updates are designed to make your journey with The Shred Method™ even more powerful and aligned with your goals.
