TSM Tips: How to Best Use the Reports Tab to Monitor Your Progress
The Reports Tab inside The Shred Method™ software is more than just charts and numbers — it’s your strategy dashboard. It helps you determine if you’re on the right track or if it’s time to tweak your plan and shift your financial priorities.
If you want to maximize your impact — whether that’s through debt payoff, investing, or optimizing cash flow — the Reports Tab is where it all comes together.
âś… Why the Reports Tab Matters
By reviewing your reports regularly, you can:
-
Track your real progress toward financial freedom
-
Compare different strategies (debt payoff vs. investing/saving)
-
Decide where your money is best used
-
Adjust priorities without derailing your whole plan
📌 Key Reports to Watch
1. LOC Account Report
This report shows you the balance you’ll carry on your Line of Credit over time.
-
Multiply that projected balance by your interest rate to get an estimate of how much interest you’ll pay annually.
-
This helps you ask:
👉 Is this interest cost worth the benefits I’m gaining?
👉 Should I scale back LOC usage, or keep leveraging it?
If the interest outweighs your gains elsewhere (like investments), you might want to adjust your LOC limit or switch focus.
2. Bank & Investment Account Reports
These show how your account balances will grow over time — a great way to track your liquidity and net worth.
-
You can compare this growth to your debt savings to determine if it’s better to keep investing/saving or use those funds toward debt payoff.
-
This insight can help balance your goals between wealth-building and financial freedom.
3. Mortgage & Consumer Debt Reports
Use these to:
-
See how much interest you’ll save on each mortgage or debt.
-
Determine which loan to prioritize for faster results.
-
Visualize your balance trajectory so you can plan future steps like a recast or refinancing your HELOC when you’ve built more equity.
-
See exact payoff dates and interest saved on each consumer debt.
If a debt’s savings potential is minimal, it may be time to reprioritize.
đź“… Make It a Habit
We recommend reviewing your reports every 1–2 months or whenever a major change happens (new debt, raise, bonus, investment shift, etc.). Small tweaks based on these insights can make a big impact over time.
If you ever feel unsure about what the data is telling you or how to interpret the numbers, we’re here to help!

We also want to ask you a favor, we're currently trying to build a database of HELOC providers to help new members find a lender wherever they may be based. We would greatly appreciate it if you could fill out this form based on your HELOC provider.
